Make hay while the sun shines… with the Chamber

The Massachusetts economy is the best in the nation, according to Governing magazine, a periodical for local government leaders. The magazine recently ranked Massachusetts’ economy as the strongest in the nation, based on six criteria:

1. State unemployment rate
2. One-year improvement in the state unemployment rate
3. Per capita state GDP in 2015
4. Percent change in real state GDP, 2014 to 2015
5. Percent change in personal income per capita
6. Year-to-date increase in jobs for 2016

While the economic recovery has not reached everyone – even in Massachusetts – these numbers are good news for Bay State businesses and individuals alike.

This is a time for business owners to make investments in people, equipment, marketing – whatever moves the dial. As they say, you’ve gotta make hay while the sun shines. And the Chamber can help.

The Chamber is a convener of business people, a place where ideas are exchanged, referrals are made and resources can be tapped. Looking for a consultant to help your business get to the next level? A vendor to provide needed equipment? A training program to provide quality new hires?

Chances are, you can find those resources in the Chamber membership, or you can find other Chamber members who can recommend vendors, resources and strategies that have worked for them. Moreover, the Chamber’s relationships with state agencies and small business support organizations can help you tap into sources of help you may not have known existed.

If you’re a Chamber member looking for help to boost your business to the next level, reach out to the Chamber for help. Tom O’Rourke would be happy to have a conversation with you. And if you know of a business that isn’t a Chamber member yet, share the news with them about the Chamber’s resources.

The sun is shining, and it’s time to make hay!
