In addition to adding new members and defining roles, the Norwood EDC has been discussing the importance of promoting the EDC (i.e. who we are, what our function is, and how we can help businesses that are currently in Norwood as well as new, incoming businesses). Some of the ideas which were considered were:
- Sponsor a meeting for State Agencies such as Mass Dept of Business Development to come and talk with businesses in our community about programs that can help them. Update the Town of Norwood Website with EDC info as well as information that could help prospective businesses when they are researching towns to do business in. Develop a Brochure that we can hand out to business prospects that highlights how "business friendly" Norwood is.Utilize Public Access TV. Interview execs/owners of businesses in town - and have them explain "in their own words" what's great about doing business in Norwood. Take another look at current Norwood Video and, if not outdated, air on Public Access TV.
- Get a photo of EDC committee and promote function etc in local newspapers
